Vintage Film Screening
Saturday 29th November, 4pm - 4.45pm
Project R is a dusty, little, private film archive. It specialises in small, bespoke film screenings of long lost, vintage educational and training reels. Unearthing little known celluloid gems is what it does: reels often salvaged from the skips of local education authorities.
The preferred aesthetic is late 1960s/early 1970s educational; the modernist high school, the glistening shopping precinct, the corrugated church hall. Sometimes peppering their programmes with the cherished memories of strangers captured on long lost, amateur cine film, Project R treasures always surprise.
On November 29th here at St John's they will be screening a short session of surprise educational reels about London. To celebrate the restoration of our organ the final vintage film will feature live, musical accompaniment. Project R glances backwards to always move forwards.
Doors open: 3.45pm
Films begin: 4.00pm
Films end: 4.45pm
Admission: free
