Notting Hill Mayfest 2014
The Notting Hill Mayfest returns for 2014 with a month long series of mixed cultural events, including orchestral, chamber and contemporary music, opera, lectures, choral performances, art, cinema and community children’s days.
Based across a number of venues throughout Notting Hill, the festival encourages both up and coming local talent and experienced performers from further afar to come together to celebrate the cultural life and history of Notting Hill. Opening of the Mayfest - May 1st
All are invited to attend this celebration of the growing musical life of St John’s Church, Notting Hill. This concert will feature a number of the church’s choral scholars and musicians in residence, alongside a wine and food reception and the official opening of the Mayfest Exhibition housed within the church’s Sacred Space Gallery. Thomas Trotter - May 9th
The opening concert in the organ recital series at St John's takes place in the Mayfest. Thomas Trotter with give the recital on Friday 9th May, 7.00pm.

Multi-Storey - May 14th and 15th
Children from 5 local primary schools will learn about and sing with a full orchestra and the organ, with Fox, Colville, Thomas Jones, Avondale and St Francis of Assisi primary schools all visiting. Multi-Storey Orchestra have regularly performed for schools in Peckham, and now composer Kate Whitley has written a new piece of music for primary school children in Notting Hill.

Harvey Burgett - May 23rd
An organ recital given by Harvey Burgett. A long-time resident of New York City, Harvey has performed widely in the United States and Europe as organist and chamber musician.

Sing West London - May 30th
Your opportunity to sing with the organ in a community choir, rehearsing and performing a choral masterpiece in just one day. Sing West London perform Durufle's Requiem during the Notting Hill Mayfest.
