Christopher was the winner of the Oundle School for Organists' Recitalist Award in 2014, showing precocious musicianship during the school’s summer course. This recital is his award, and we are excited to hear him play the organ at St John's Notting Hill.

Christopher started playing the organ in January 2011 at Yarm School under Keith Brown, who is now the Director of Music at The John Lyon School in Harrow. Since September 2012, he studies under David Ratnanayagam, the Sub-Organist at Durham Cathedral. He has ABRSM Grade 8 with Distinction.

Chrisopher currently holds an Organ Scholarship at St Peter’s Church, Osmotherley. He has have worked in many local churches in the surrounding area, which has introduced him to choral conducting.

He is a music scholar at Yarm School, and is regularly involved with accompanying and singing in the choirs. Last summer, he accompanied the choir to Italy on the Music Tour, and performed solo repertoire in several concerts, most notably at the Florence Basilica. In previous years, he has assisted with the accompaniment of Choral Evensong at York Minster.

He has attended a number of organ courses, including Oundle for Organists (for which he was the recitalise winner), and The Organ Scholar Experience with the RCO in 2014. This has led him to work with many leading organists, including Daniel Moult, Anne Page, Stephen Farr and Margaret Phillips. Separately from these courses, he has also received lessons from Gordon Stewart.

Christopher has given numerous organ recitals. Notably, in August 2014, he played in St Mary-le-Tower, Ipswich, as part of their recital series.

As well as the organ, Chris plays the piano and the violin, and has recently passed ABRSM Grade 8 with Distinction in both instruments. He is Principal 2nd Violin of the Young Sinfonia, based at The Sage, Gateshead.
